Gays and Lesbians Getting Married in Canada

Friday December 19, 2003
Today's New York Times includes an article about the Canadian travel industry marketing to U.S. gay and lesbians, especially for wedding packages. (reading the article requires free registration) If you've been considering going to Canada yourself to tie the knot, the article includes some great spots to get married, and vendors to consider. If you'd rather stay in the US, you'll have to wait 100 + more days to have a marriage in Massachusetts. For a civil union, head for Vermont. I particularly recommend the Black Bear Inn, where Innkeeper Ken Richardson served as an informal wedding planner to friends of mine. The decor is rustic and kitschy, but the hospitality is grand.
