Bouquet and Garter Toss

Once upon a time, when they announced the bouquet toss everyone would clamour to get it. These days, it seems like every wedding I go to, single women hide in the bathroom so they won't be "forced" to go up. Those who do go up try to avoid actually catching it! Could it be that this time-honored tradition is going the way of the dinosaur? Should brides not include the bouquet and garter toss?
