Shop till you drop

Tuesday December 28, 2004
As you bask in the glow of the holidays, I hope you're remembering to hit the after-Christmas sales! And not just to return that pumpkin-colored sweater Aunt Betty bought you either. Make sure you're keeping an eye out for things you can use in your wedding. Among the things to look for: ornaments and candles for favors, thin ribbons for tying favors and programs, and bridesmaid dresses (the ones at the bridal salon won't be on sale, but at the department stores evening and cocktail dresses will be). At the drugstore, often anything red or green is on sale - one year I got packs of red candles for five cents a piece! If you're having a winter wedding next year, look especially for centerpieces for your tables. At Michaels, they have wicker sleighs that make easy and fun arrangement holders - they even have a project sheet online to help inspire you! Keep those eyes peeled for wedding bargains! You never know what you may find.
