Project Idea: Easy Decorated Cookies

Wednesday March 23, 2005
A classic wedding favor or wedding shower favor is a bag of decorated cookies - depicting the bride's and groom's names, an iconic image of the theme, or simply a wedding cake. I don't know about you, but the idea of decorating 300 cookies or more gives me a headache. And purchasing custom cookies is expensive! That's why I was so excited to find out about Wilton's new product - Brush-On Color. This edible decorating paint can be either brushed on or used with a rubber stamp. Most craft and stationery stores will let order custom stamps with whatever design you like on them - an easy way to apply the bride and groom's names. Or use a couple stamps to layer colors. The Brush-On Color looks best on top of white icing or fondant, but can also be applied directly on a cookie. If you're short on time, ask a local bakery for plain cookies, or even a grocery store plain iced cookie such as Archway. At the wedding, people will be looking at the clever stamp and wondering how you did it!
