After much hubbub and many roadblocks, finally everything went smoothly for Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles at their wedding today. In a low key civil ceremony at Town Hall, Princes William and Harry watched their father marry his former mistress, along with only a few other family members. This was followed by a religious blessing of the union for about 800 guests. Yes yes, but what did Camilla wear?
A woman who has been criticized for her lack of style made quite a showing for the civil ceremony in a Robinson Valentine cream silk embroidered coat over a matching cream chiffon dress with appliqued details. She also wore a fabulous Philip Treacy cream-colored hat made of straw, feathers and lace. But it was at the blessing ceremony where she really shone. She wore a floor-length turquoise blue silk dress and matching high-collared coat with beautiful gold embroidery - the design was reportedly inspired by a piece of jewelry belonging to her late mother. This was matched by another Philip Treacy creation - a headdress of gold ostrich feathers with Swarovski crystal tips.
Indeed, the woman once criticized for her dumpy fashion taste looked elegant and stylish. Newspapers are already predicting a Camilla-fed hat craze!
