Weddings and Hurricanes

Thursday September 22, 2005
As Hurricane Rita approaches Houston, I'm sure many couples who have weddings planned for this weekend are facing the fact that they have to cancel, and other couples from around the country are wondering if their loved ones from the area will be able to attend. It's a very stressful situation, to be sure. The only thing I can tell you is to try to focus on what's important - marrying the person you love. Someday, you'll have a great story to tell at cocktail parties. In the meantime, if you have to postpone, many of the details can be rescheduled. Some articles that might be helpful include Etiquette and Advice on Postponing or Canceling a Wedding, Easy Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques, and Rise Above Wedding Stress.

For those of you who aren't in the affected area this time, but worry this could happen to you, you might want to consider taking out wedding insurance - here's an article on the pros and cons.
