Interactive Tool to Help You Create Custom Bridesmaid Dresses

Thursday October 6, 2005
Thank god the days of bridesmaid armies in matching huge peach organza dresses are a thing of the past. These days, more and more brides are letting their bridesmaids choose to wear either the same dress but in an individual color that suits their skintone and personality, or different dresses all in the same color or hue. But this approach can be a bit daunting and a bit too unmatching. You might be worried that some bridesmaids will end up looking like they are going to a prom, while others look like they are headed for a summer picnic. Or, perhaps one bridesmaid tends to wear more revealing outfits than you're comfortable with. Worst of all, I've even heard that some bridesmaids feel adrift, unsure what it is that the bride really wants and unhappy about not just being told what to wear.

That's why stores that offer an array of dresses in the same fabrics and colors are so helpful. But Lynn Lugo Bridal has taken it a step further. On their website, you can use their interactive tool to first choose a dress, then choose a fabric and color, before added options like contrasting sashes, flower pins, and ruffled trims. So while one bridesmaid may be in an a-line halter dress and another in a straight strapless, they can still look coordinated and tasteful. Best of all, since it's online, your bridesmaid in Michigan can email her picks to you in California, and you'll both be on the same page.
