Engagement on Ice?
Monday October 9, 2006
If you've ever been to Rockefeller Center during the holiday time, you know that in spite of the crowds and bustle, it really is a romantic place. Not only the backdrop for thousands of movies, it also holds a childhood nostalgia for many who have skated there or have gone to see the huge tree. While a proposal at Rockefeller Center would mean trying to fight those crowds to even get down on one knee, the Rink at Rockefeller Center has a solution. For $200, you jump to the front of the line (almost worth $200 in itself!). At the end of the session, the other skaters leave the ice, and 'your song' begins to play. After you propose, a staff member can bring out a bouquet of flowers you've dropped off ahead of time. The two of you will take a victory lap, then go to the Rockefeller Center Cafe for a glass of champagne and a goodie bag. Click here to make a reservation. As a bonus, Brides.com will post a videotape of your proposal on their website, allowing you to share your engagement with friends and family.
Of course, make sure she wants such a public proposal! If she's the shy or private type, perhaps a quieter venue would be more appropriate.
