'Big Day' - ABC's new wedding sitcom

Big Day is the new sitcom on ABC that follows the 24 concept of having the entire season take place on the same day - a wedding day, in this case. I was hopeful that there might finally be a wedding-themed show on TV worth watching. I'm not sure this is it. In spite of a great cast, the show reuses the same tired jokes from every other wedding movie or TV show. From the overanxious mother to the slutty sister to the immature groom, all the stereotypes are here, along with their accompanying storylines. There are some funny moments to be sure, along with some well-written dialogue. Those with a love of weddings might want to watch it if only to see the Vera Wang wedding gown and perfect wedding cake.

Big Day airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
