What's Your Wedding Planning Style?

Thursday February 15, 2007
Are you someone who jumped in with both feet, the moment they got engaged? Someone who was instantly researching locations, dresses and more? Or are you more the type to take things slowly, figuring that there's still plenty of time? When my brother proposed to my (now) sister-in-law, they called me at 2 in the morning to tell me the happy news. I sleepily said, "Congratulations! I'll call you at a human hour of the morning!" By the time I reached them at 10 am, they had already booked the church and the country club and knew who their bridesmaids and groomsmen would be. But another friend of mine has been engaged for six months and has little more than her location.

Whatever your wedding planning style, it's okay. If you're someone who has gotten a little ahead of herself, perhaps it's time to do a little wedding stress management. If you've gotten your wedding dress, location, and music out of the way, why not spend some time focusing on your wedding ceremony?

On the other hand, if you've been procrastinating a little bit, it's time to take out that wedding checklist and see where you are. If the big tasks seem a little daunting, you can start by working on something fun, like your wedding theme.
