A Green Bridal Shower

"I am in charge of making the bridal shower invitations and the bride and groom want to have a "green" shower. Meaning they do NOT want guests to wrap the gifts. They are very environmentally friendly and want to do as much as they can to help the planet. This is just a small thing guests can do to honor their concerns. Is there a cute poem or appropriate way I can word 'do not wrap gifts' on the invitation."
Missy, I'd carry the theme a little further and have it be an entirely green shower. What do I mean?

Well, ask guests to bring an environmentally friendly gift - it might be as small as a basket of green cleaning products, or as large as a piece of furniture made from recycled wood and non-chemically treated fabrics.

Start by forgoing paper invitations - stick to email or evite. The wording can be simple - it doesn't need to be overly cutesy, especially if it's a coed shower.

On the invitation write
A Green Shower
for John and Jane

Our favorite enviromentalists John and Jane are getting married!
Let's help them feather their nest, while protecting the world around them.

Please bring an environmentally friendly gift to adorn their home.
The bride and groom have requested that gifts not be wrapped, in order to save paper.
Continue your theme by avoiding any disposable paper products, using a more renewable resource like bamboo, these plates made from sugarcane, or glass dishes that can be reused instead. Instead of cut flowers in your centerpieces, use a several small potted flowers, which guests can then take home as favors. Hope this helps! Readers, do you have any more suggestions for Missy and her green bridal shower?
