Gossip Girl and Thank You Notes
Wednesday December 3, 2008
I'll admit it. I'm a big fan of Gossip Girl, the somewhat shallow TV show about wealthy NYC teens obsessed with their own self-perpetuating drama. Not only does it have sharp writing and intriguing fashion, it also gives you valuable tips. Okay, usually they're of the "what to do when the IRS and FBI are chasing down your father for tax evasion, while your much older mistress's husband is getting suspicious" variety. But this time, they're actually useful for your wedding.
When Lily Van Der Woodsen wed Bart Bass, their wedding was ridiculously expensive. But even rich people have to write thank you notes, and I can guarantee you that Lily Bass's were impeccable. To prove the point, The CW network has provided you with examples of what she wrote to her pals Jerry and Jessica, Vera, and Richard. (That's, respectively, Seinfeld, Wang, and Branson, natch.) Just change the references to the Hamptons and St. Barts into something more local, and you can copy Lily's impeccable thank you notes! Of course, if hers are still a little too much for you, you could always look at our examples of sample thank you notes to help keep you inspired...

We printed a wedding photo and stuck it on the front of a plain card to make simple nice thank you notelets.

Hello,
I was doing some research and came upon about.com…I have been a sought after wedding photographer for over 10 years. I had to just comment. I know with the times of economy things are tight, especially when it comes to weddings. It makes me cringe to hear the word “cheap”…cheap to me means good enough or paying for something that will not have value. I would hate to have my wedding photography to be known as “cheap”. I would love a see a article done on the value of wedding photography or how to find a photographer who is not your Uncle Joe with a nice camera! I think its because of little words like “cheap” got us in this economic mess in the first place…look how the wedding industry has declined these past years because of brides going “cheap”…
I’ll keep this short, but just consider turning the words of “cheap” to maybe just a word as easy as “simple”…
