Cheap Wedding Fridays Tip #12 - Save Money on Your Wedding Dress

Friday December 12, 2008
Every bride wants to look like a million bucks, but most brides don't have that kind of cash. There are discount bridal shops, and national chains which can provide a good value. But for the quality and style of a real designer wedding gown, most brides have to fork over a good amount of cash. Here's one of my favorite little secrets for having a designer wedding dress without spending a ton of money: It's a website called Bridepower.com, which sells designer overstock and samples. It's like going to a sample sale from the comfort of your living room, without all the other crazy brides fighting for your dress. A good friend of mine was able to snag a Carolina Herrera dress in perfect condition for just $400! Not all of their prices are that dirt cheap, but there are lots of bargains to be had.

I would love to have an engagement party . When sould I have it . My wedding is 6 to 7 months away . I also want to say . I found my wedding dress and my boyfriends tuxio at the Goodwill here in town . David’s Bridel Shop gave the Goodwill stores the wedding dresses and tuxios . I paid 50.00 dallors for my dress and 25.00 dallors for my boyfriends tuxio . They still had the price tags on them . I got my dress at a 550.00 dallor discount . It is white with pearls and beading on it (strapless). Our colors are red and black . My boyfriends tuxs is black with red and black vest and black and red bow tie to match . I’m taking a floral design class at are adult school here in town . It is 3 classes and the last one is on wedding designs so , I will be doing my own flowers for my wedding . I continue to find MUCH better deals on ebay than on bridepower.com!! I paid $68 for my dress 3 years ago, and it was a $900 gown!! It had never been worn, a gal bought it and then cancelled her wedding! I didn’t browse bridepower for too long, but there wasn’t anything there that looked like a bargain to me! I know a powerseller on ebay that sells brand new gowns starting at $49!!!! Now these might be from past seasons, but they are gorgeous dresses!! And there are more like her there!

I love Bridepower.com, too. There are $49 gowns all over the Web, but they are not DESIGNER gowns. Big difference! This site carries beautiful dresses, cheap. Amsale, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Melissa Sweet, etc. If you are a bride on a budget, it is worth checking out. I definitely got a designer steal.
