It's Boxing Day - Time to Knock Down Those Lingering Wedding Tasks!

Friday December 26, 2008
December 26, the day after Christmas, is known as Boxing Day, and it's frequently a holiday from work. For those of us trying to plan weddings, it's a great day to knock out some of those wedding chores that you've been putting off, or dreading. Especially if you're with your family, you might tackle the guest list or the wedding budget. You could also look at your wedding checklist and see what remains to be done.

And if instead, you just really need to take a break and relax, that's okay too. Check out these easy ways to relax during wedding planning.

How are you spending boxing day?

What about Kwanzaa? Don’t get me wrong, there are many people that celebrate Boxing Day and get time off from work. But there are some of your readers that celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa as well which starts on Dec. 26. It would be nice to mention both holidays; just a suggestion.

If christmas, kwanzaa or new years day…. that doesn’t matte. The important thing is, that you stay with your family or (and) friends to discuss the major points of the wedding ceremony.

As for the previous comment mentioned
“If christmas, kwanzaa or new years day…. that doesn’t matte. The important thing is, that you stay with your family or (and) friends to discuss the major points of the wedding ceremony.”

Of course family is the most important during these traditions. But the fact of the matter is that most of the time Christmas, Haunakaa(sp), New Year’s and even Boxing Day is mentioned as special traditions. It seems the world tends to “forget” about African-American traditions of Kwanzaa and how we may discuss our traditions of family, weddings, etc. I was just saying it would be a nice thing for someone to acknowledge Dec 26 as both Boxing Day and the first day of Kwanzaa for all readers.

For planing a Wedding the time is´t important. The best thing you can do is to discuss everything without any hectic and stress. The point is that it has to be a weddingparty for the happy couple not for the wedding guests.
