Wedding Cake Artist: Shinmin Li's Edible Masterpieces

Forget the standard three-tiered white wedding cake with plastic columns and a smiling bride and groom. Baker Shinmin Li, owner of San Francisco's I Dream of Cake, has a background in art and sculpture, so it makes sense that her cakes are works of art. Like a couture wedding dress, Li's cakes are custom-designed for every wedding, and are sure to be nothing like what your guests have seen before. I've been an admirer of I Dream of Cake for a while, so I loved seeing this Chow.com video of Li describing her work, and showing off some of her latest creations. Watching this video was like a ray of sunshine on a very cold and snowy day.
