There might be a few more wedding bells ringing in California next week. Or maybe not. Gay marriage supporters hoped that the stay on the Proposition 8 ruling would be lifted today, and that same-sex weddings could resume immediately. But they only got part of their wish. The judge did lift the stay, but he said that the weddings couldn't begin until August 18th at 5pm. That delay allows time for opponents to ask the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to reimpose the stay. It's likely that this battle will proceed all the way to the Supreme Court.
Why does this feel like watching a tennis match - only the stakes are many people's lives and beliefs?

There is no such thing as same sex marriage.
Marriage is not a human invention. God created us male and female. And God created marriage. marriage by definition is between one man and one woman for life. It was never meant to be anything else. It is the first institution which God created and is the building block to a healthy society. It was meant to be a blessing to mankind and womankind. To attempt to make it something else is to turn away in rebellion from our Creator God. It will mean the destruction of our society. This is much, much bigger than it is portrayed. This is not about rights. Everyone already has the right to marry – an opposite sex adult. It will mean the destruction of our country, just like the empires of Rome and Greece were destroyed. The exact same way. They became corrupt and fell beyond repair. This is our shame and humiliation and will be our destruction.
I say it is time to either follow God’s ways or do this one on our own. God invented marriage, so let’s either follow that rule – one man and one women, or follow the states definition of marriage…which will change year by year to suit those who cry the loudest.
Some of my gay friends deserve 100% respect, but none of us deserve to change Gods ways…marriage is no different.
In the end let’s simply vote on it. 51% or higher goes to the winner.
