I recently found out that a friend of mine has a dirty little secret: he reads the New York Times Weddings section religiously. He's not married, has no plans to get married, and if he were to, he'd probably never submit their wedding to the Times. But he loves having a little peak into other people's lives and seeing how the other half lived.
I myself find it a delicious read, even if it gives comparatively few details about the ceremony and reception, preferring to focus on the couple. It was once an incredibly elite section, including only the upper crust of the upper class. Now it seems more egalitarian, although it's still extremely hard to be included. That's why I loved reading this statistical analysis of who gets in. Spoiler: it's still incredibly elitist.
What about you - do you want to be in the NY Times Wedding section? Why or why not?
