The Post Office Wants Your Wedding Invitations

It's no secret that the Post Office has been suffering in recent years. With the rise of email and other electronic communications, there are far fewer actual letters being sent. The one exception: wedding invitations.

The New York Times recently ran an article stating that even though one in five couples is now using email or evites to send their wedding invitations, most wedding experts still recommend mailing your invitations. (I agree!  A wedding invitation should be beautifully printed and mailed!) So the USPS is reissuing classic wedding stamps like the $0.65 wedding cake, or the "forever" wedding roses stamp. (Forever means you pay current first class postage prices, but you can then use them forever to send first class mail, regardless of future price increases.) When I got hitched , we really only had one wedding stamp option, which we didn't like. So we ended up using non-wedding specific but beautiful stamps we loved.

If you're mailing your wedding invitations, you should check out the current options for stamps. My favorite is this Love stamp that is a "forever" stamp. Simple, graphic, meaningful, and you can use any extras for a long time to come.
