Bridal Shower Invitation Wording

Thursday April 3, 2008
A friend of mine is planning a bridal shower for another friend of hers, and asked me for my advice about invitation wording. She was aghast to find out that you were supposed to put the registry information on a bridal shower invitation. After all, putting any information about gifts on a wedding invitation is strictly forbidden. So what makes a bridal shower different?

Simply put, the point of a bridal shower is to give gifts. It's the only event associated with a wedding where gifts may be truely expected.

Although the bridal shower may be a time in which one expects to give and receive gifts, I think the registry wording is certainly optional.

Guests who are motivated enough to use a bridal shower registry are probably going to be motivated enough to ask about one as well.
