How expensive should the items on my registry be?

By Nina Callaway, About.com

Question: How expensive should the items on my registry be?
Answer: This will depend partially on whom you've invited. If you know that many of your guests are affluent, then ensure that you have a good selection of your gifts in the high end range ($100-$250). As a wedding guest, it's frustrating to find that the most expensive item left on the list costs only 1/5 of what you wanted to spend. On the other hand, if most of your friends are still students, or just don't have money to spend on lavish gifts, you might register at someplace like Target.com where you can get nice but inexpensive presents. As a general rule, gifts should fall between $25 and $400, with the majority between $50 and $100.
