How do I find a wedding location in our area?

By , About.com Guide

Question: How do I find a wedding location in our area?
Answer: First you'll want to narrow down what kind of space is right for your wedding (outdoor, estate home, hotel, community setting, religious, etc.) Then try contacting your local tourism board, who can give you a list of these types of places near you. You also can try the Internet - there are lots of great web resources, including a few that I've linked to on the right side of this page. Many wedding magazines, including Bride's and The Knot publish local versions of their magazine that include lists of local locations. Lastly, venues are an area where a wedding planner can be of enormous help. If you hire someone just for the job of finding a location for you, it shouldn't too expensive, and they may have resources and ideas that you've never thought of.
