Mark proposed to me just after Christmas (2003), after we'd gotten home from a holiday visit with his family.How long had you been dating previously?
About two years.How did your fiancé/fiancée pop the question?
It was spontaneous. We'd come home from his family's and were talking about how the visit went. (we were lying in bed!) He started thanking me for how much fun it was, how easy it was, and then said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me! And he started crying!!!! Then he asked me to marry him!!!Did your fiancé/fiancée already have an engagement ring? What did it look like?
No ring when he proposed, but we went that afternoon to the jewelers and picked out an antique sapphire ring with two little diamonds on each side.Any special details or other thoughts you'd like to share?
The wedding will be this fall - just a small wedding only family and a few close friends. We're doing everything super cheap except the cake which will be made by my favorite baker with chocolate icing, sugar leaves on the outside and raspberry filling.read next marriage proposal story
