Thanking the Wedding Party
In thanks for their service, love and friendship, the adult members of a wedding party are traditionally:
- invited to all pre- and post- wedding events, such as the engagement party, rehearsal dinner, and day-after brunch. (The only exception being if there are sex-segregated events. For example, groomsmen would not be invited to an all-female bridal shower.)
- given a wedding party thank-you gift.
- In addition to the above, sometimes the couple opt to pay for their attendants attire, transportation costs, and lodging.
- Typically the bride and groom say a few words of welcome at the wedding, thanking their guests for being there, and especially thanking the bridal party and their parents for their love and support.
Among your thank-you notes should be especially heartfelt thank yous to those who played special roles, really helped you with planning and logistics, and who went the extra mile.
