Source for Unique DIY Wedding Invitations
Wednesday October 6, 2004
When someone says that you should make your own invitations, my mind runs immediately to sloppy, very homemade-looking projects that advertise how small your budget is. But, thanks to this website a reader just sent me to, paper-source.com, you can create invitations worthy of a million-dollar wedding, for not too much money. Choices include dramatic petal fold envelopes, fancy papers, pretty ribbons to tie them with, and best of all, these details are included in a do-it-yourself (DIY) package, complete with instructions.

I don’t know about anyone else, but to me, this may be cheaper than professional invites, but it’s just too expensive for me—it’s a piece of paper, after all!
I talked to my sister in law, she showed me some great invites she made on the computer using cardstock for postcards, they’re even perforated and easy to get apart! finish the edges with a pair of scrap-booking scissors and you’re set! anyone with Windows OS and a printer can do it and it looks great!
There are a number of great DIY wedding invitation kits out there & not all of them are insanely expensive. Some are only $4.95/10.Printable Wedding Invitations Also, if you’re having a small wedding, diy invitations can really help you save money as most printers charge close to the same whether you purchase 25 or 100 invitations.
Belle & Ivy Designs(www.belleandivy.com) sells great DIY kits.
also sells great DIY kits.
Petals & Papers () has really unique diy wedding invitation kits. The pocketfold invitations they carry come in fab handmade papers or trendy colors, like chocolate brown, fuschia, turquoise, orange, etc…
I am the founder of Paper Source and you can imagine the delight I felt with this wonderful and unsolicited support. To Kat…some of this “just paper” that we use is beautiful hand
silkscreen in Japan by talanted tradition artists using the finest of
materials. The Japanese honor some of these artists with title “national treasures” and to have just a small bit of their work on ones wedding invitation is, as Nina points out, worthy of a million-dollar wedding.
By the way the need for good computer skills is still very important.
Thanks again Nina for your support in this! Sue
I purchased my wedding invites through paper-source and I was extremely impressed! They were better than I had imagined, and easy to complete on my own. I recommend the products to every one of my engaged friends, they really are great!
Homemade= advertising just how small your wedding budget is? What a fantastic attitude for a wedding site writer to have.

If you’re looking for beautiful but inexpensive invitations I used Red Bumble Bee (http:///www.redbumblebee.com)
They’re great and really attentive to your needs.
i recently had a bad experience with invitesbyyou.com. the ivory cardstock was a different color from the ivory pocketfolds. wouldn’t you think that ivory would match throughout the product line from the same company? i can assure you that was not their line of thinking. in the end, i found matching cardstock at a local printer and ‘invites’ refunded the cost of the cardstock but my advice would be to proceed with extreme caution when placing your order with this company.

Thanks! Awesome ideas here
Hi. Great ideas here! Thanks so much. For my sister’s wedding, she used these really cute
diy wedding
invitations. They worked out nicely even though the colors didn’t exactly match. She was happy with them.
We used DIYWeddingInvitations.com Printable Wedding Invitations for our wedding invitations. You can print them out right away if you have a decent printer. Since we don’t, we just changed our wording/font, etc & saved our file to disk & brought it into our local printer. We still saved a ton of money & they turned out fabulous! I used another design for our save-the-date cards & backed them with that stick-on magnetic paper.
