Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to Marry Soon

Wednesday April 26, 2006
Now that baby Suri is born, can a Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding be far away? Cruise has told Hollywood.com that they were waiting for the baby before going ahead with wedding plans. "That stuff is actually going to happen in the next couple of weeks." Cruise said. "We are going to decide where and when and how. Really, whatever Kate wants, you know."

Given Tom Cruise's enthusiasm over the engagement, and Holmes's strong Catholic background, I am surprised at how long it has taken them to have a wedding. But perhaps Katie didn't want to be a pregnant bride? Pregnant or not, she's had her choice of the top wedding dress designers who could have made her a lovely maternity wedding dress. Yet celebrities seem to get married either immediately after they find out they are pregnant - like Matt Damon & Luciana Barosso or Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin- or they wait until just after the baby is born - like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. What do you think? Should Tom and Katie have waited to have their wedding? And do you think they'll have a big splashy wedding or a quiet one?

Tom Cruise and quiet? I’m sure Tom and Katie will have a gigantic spectical of a wedding. Observing Tom’s behavior in the past year, I’m sure he’ll go way over the top with the wedding.
